About Orthodox churches
Orthodox churches belong to the Eastern Christian tradition that traces itself to the earliest churches of Greece, the Middle East and Eastern Europe, and many parishes still serve a particular heritage such as Greek, Russian, Serbian or Antiochian. The Sunday service is the Divine Liturgy, sung rather than spoken, with icons, incense and a strong sense of continuity with the ancient church. Visitors are welcome to attend and observe; receiving Communion is reserved for Orthodox Christians.
