About Church of Christ churches
Churches of Christ grew out of the nineteenth-century American Restoration Movement, which sought to return to the pattern of the New Testament church without creeds or denominational structures. Each congregation is fully independent and led by its own elders, and most sing without instruments, take the Lord's Supper every Sunday and baptise believers by immersion. Services are plain, orderly and centred on Bible study.
