About Presbyterian churches

Presbyterian churches come from the Reformed tradition of John Calvin and John Knox and take their name from their form of government: congregations are led by elected elders and joined together in regional presbyteries. They value careful teaching from the Bible, the historic creeds and confessions, and an ordered, thoughtful style of worship with hymns, prayers and a substantial sermon. Children are typically baptised as infants and welcomed into the life of the congregation.
